Lynda Emptage - Managing Director

Lynda’s career in the events industry began over twenty years ago, then focusing on music related events such as album launches, tours and tour parties, promotional and private events, including:
- Big Country’s ground breaking pre-perestrioka private invitation concerts in Moscow
- Album launch events for Iron Maiden, Queen, Womack & Womack
- Elton John’s unique performance half way up a mountain in the Austrian ski resort of Ischgl
- Sting’s performances at the Kremlin Palace in Moscow
- Rod Stewart’s stadium tour of the UK and private shows in Brunei
- Bruce Willis at the Forum, London
In 1996, Lynda moved more in the consumer and film sector, working for a PR Agency, who wanted to structure and develop their Events team. As Senior Event Director here, Lynda produced and managed events such as ‘101 Dalmatians’ Film Premiere at the Royal Albert Hall for Disney, ‘Batman & Robin’ film premiere at Battersea Power Station for Warner Bros, The Holsten Remix trip – a weekend long hospitality event in Barcelona for 1000 guests and the unique ‘Mars Celebrations Express’ train, which was the first train to travel across the UK as a moving party!
In November 1998, Lynda set up Hyperactive, whose very first event was for Virgin Radio in January 1999, followed swiftly by Disney’s World Premiere of ‘A Bug’s Life’. Hyperactive's reputation grew quickly and events added to the company’s portfolio went on to include:
- British American Racing’s celebrity based events around the European Grand Prix (including a 1000 strong party for Jacques Villeneuve in London and parties in Barcelona)
- Virgin Radio and Carlsberg ‘Probably The Best Party … ‘ for 3000 in London
- ‘An Evening With Jerry Springer’ hosted by Paula Yates
The following year, The Capital Markets Co commissioned Hyperactive to produce a series of internal and external comms events in and around the Greek Islands, where the magnificent ‘Star Clipper’ sailing ship was transformed into a ‘state of the art’ floating conference and hospitality vessel.
The Walt Disney Co continue to use Hyperactive, who have produced film premiere events for them including ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’, ‘The Aviator’, ‘Captain Corelli’s Mandolin’, ‘Casanova', and the recent ‘Wild Hogs’.
In 2001, Hyperactive’s relationship with Vodafone began, when a newly pregnant Lynda, produced their press conference in Monaco, through Octagon Marketing, to announce their five year sponsorship of the Ferrari Formula One team. Later that year, Lynda worked on a three way pitch to win their coveted ‘Vodafone Ball’ business (their staff party for 12,000) and has now produced this event for the last five years. The first Ball was produced for 11,500 at Newbury Racecourse, with new born daughter Scarlett a regular visitor to the site - she even had her own hard hat!
At the end of 2004, Lynda expanded the business to have a dedicated international hospitality division, and now has the global hospitality business for Vodafone’s Formula One sponsorship, firstly with Ferrari and now with McLaren. Hyperactive also won a four way pitch for their UEFA Champions League Hospitality programme, including the Cup Final in Rome in 2007, Moscow 2008 and Rome 2009.
With unique and challenging events seeming to find their way to Hyperactive’s door, Lynda directed her team on the Coca Cola Soundwave Express programme across Scandinavia and Europe. This consisted of a branded party train, with a nightclub, chill out bar and the smallest ever live music stage on board! The train travelled across Sweden, Denmark, France, Germany, Holland and Turkey with promotional winners on board, en route to local Festivals as part of the Soundwave programme.
In 2006, Lynda finally married the father of her five year old daughter, Scarlett, after 10 years together, and now lives in Hampshire.
